How to set up Amazon Echo Dot for Home

Use the Alexa app to set up your Echo Dot, or Echo Dot with clock.

Note: Before setup, download or update the Alexa app in your mobile device's app store.

• Plug in your Echo Dot device.
• On your mobile device, open the Alexa app 
  
• Open More and select Add a Device.
• Select Amazon Echo, and then Echo, Echo Dot, Echo Plus.
• Follow the instructions to set up your device.

Follow Detail steps:

Step 1: Select Devices in the lower right corner.

Step 2: Press the Plus sign in the top right corner

Step 3: Add Device.

Step 4: Press the Amazon Echo icon, followed by the Echo Dot icon that appears on the next screen. Then, press the image of the third-generation Echo Dot.

Step 5: Plug in your Echo Dot using the included Power Adapter. Once the blue light ring has Turned orange, your device is in Setup Mode.

Step 6: Wait for Echo Dot to appear on your phone and select it. You will be prompted to go to your Wi-Fi settings. Once there, select the network for Amazon Then, return to the Alexa app.

Step 7: Choose the Wi-Fi network to which you want to connect your Echo Dot. Enter your password if required.

Step 8: Select the External Speaker your Echo Dot will be using. If you won’t be connecting this device to an external speaker, skip this step.

Step 9: Select the Room where Echo Dot is Placed.
